TRAINING ON COURSE

The Bouddi Coast Track is a popular bushwalking and running trail. Runners are welcome to train on the course prior to the event. Please check the National Parks Website for alerts and closures.

Please be aware that there is limited phone service across some sections of the course, and runners will need to be self-sufficient for water and transport.

TRAINING PLAN

We love seeing our participants achieve personal bests at this stunning coastal trail run event and want to ensure you have all the tools you need to turn up feeling excited, prepared and ready to race.

We have teamed up again this year with physiotherapist, Mark Green from The Body Mechanic. Mark won The Unreasonable East 100 Mile Race in 2022, was the winner of the Ultra Trail Australia 50km in 2016, the Coastal Classic winner 2015, Jabulani 45km winner in 2017, 3rd at the Six Foot Track 2018, just to name a few. So, when it comes to trail running events, Mark has a world of experience at successfully getting runners across the finish line.

The Bouddi Coastal Run Training Plan will help you turn up at the start line, ready to achieve your personal best. The Training Plan starts Monday, 21 August 2023.

Training for a race like the Bouddi Coastal Run is completely different to the type of plan you would follow for a road race. With rocky terrain, sand running, beaches, cliff-tops, bushland, rainforest and steep hill inclines, you need to incorporate a whole range of different running techniques and specific training exercises to ensure you have a great race.

Whether you are a seasoned athlete or new to trail running, this 12 week plan will incorporate everything you need to get stronger, improve your mobility and increase your mileage at a safe rate so you can have a great race without injuring yourself.

The 12 week plan includes:

  • Comprehensive daily training plan designed specifically for the Bouddi Coastal Run
  • A strength program to build stability and strength for longer distances
  • A mobility program to improve your natural range of motion
  • Techniques and drills to improve running even under fatigue
  • Access to a private online community, including personal online training advice

You will receive new training content every week to keep you on track. The easy to follow videos will ensure you learn the right techniques, avoid injury and run faster.

How To Purchase the Training Plans

The training plans can be ordered when you enter the event or added to your entry at a later date. Once you complete your purchase, Mark Green from The Body Mechanic will be in touch within 1 week of purchasing your Training Plan to provide access to The Locker Room and your training plan.

To access your entry registration and add the training plan simply:

  • Head to Active and log in to your account with your username and password.
  • Select your ‘Bouddi Coastal Run’ event registration and from there you will be able to manage your registration and add purchases to your entry.

Alternatively, you can purchase the training plan directly at The Locker Room and you will receive instant access to The Locker Room and your training plan (when available). You may then purchase your Bouddi Coastal event entry separately.
